VW Tiguan oil type and capacity
Most 2019–2026 U.S. Tiguans take 0W-20 meeting VW 508 00. About 5.7–6.0 quarts with the filter. Confirm on the cap — the wrong spec is how timing chains get expensive.

Fill a quart short, run it warm, then top to the dipstick or electronic level. Overfill on these EA888 engines is how you get leaks and a wet PCV. Replace the filter every time.

How often
The book on many 2018+ Tiguans allows up to 10,000 miles or one year with the correct oil. Long Island short trips, school runs, and summer idle are closer to severe service. We would rather change it at 7–8k than explain a chain.
